What’s Next for Private Childcare Centers in New Jersey’s Push for Public Pre-K?
Governor Murphy recently released his first budget and proposed an $83 million increase in preschool funding – $25 million to continue the expansion funded from last year and another $58 million to expand preschool to 3 and 4-year-old children in more communities. It is the first step in a four-year phase-in to fully fund preschool expansion.
We’ve collected a diverse panel to have conversation with to help us to have better answers (and better questions) as to what this means for private providers going forward. Panelists include: Ellen Frede, PhD Senior Co-Director, National Institute for Early Education Research; Ruth Piatt – Director, Little Lamb Preschool-Keener Kids, Inc.; Maryanne Preztunik – Pre-K Our Way; Cynthia C. Rice, Esq, Senior Policy Analyst, Advocates for Children of New Jersey.
Come prepared with questions for our panel or submit them ahead of time to firstname.lastname@example.org.
This presentation will follow the introduction of the new slate of Board officers for 2018-2019. If you are interested in serving on the NJAEYC Board please go to www.njaeyc.org for more information.
